Total weight change: -2.6lbs

FITNESS:
I’m just getting back into the groove after baby, and although I’ve been getting some fitness time in, I haven’t made it intense enough for my liking. Next week, I plan on bringing up the intensity and intentionality of my workouts. I’ve already discussed with my husband that I need to make some me fitness time a priority. I can’t wait for my MomME time!
So, what’d I do for my Week 2 fitness?
Saturday: Body Back class – a sweaty workout all to music. It was challenging and fun!
Sunday: 5k running group – 7 mins running/3 mins walking for 4 rounds
Monday: Not much! Just some fun with my daughter outside.
Thursday’s Workout:
TANGENT:
1) Meals are way easier when I’m only feeding myself and a 3-year-old.
2) The house stays a lot cleaner with only 2-1/2 (baby) of us home.
3) The house is REALLY quiet without a 2-year-old in it.
4) All of these things make me really miss them!
MEDITATION THOUGHTS:
After completing each group workout, we finish with a meditation. I tell moms that this might be the only quiet time they have for the rest of the day, so it’s important to take advantage of it. On Saturday, we laid in silence listening to soothing piano music and we each came up with our own mantras. A manatra is a statement that effects you – a statement that helps you get up in the morning to conquer the day. My mantra consists of 3 words: Love, Strength, Harmony.
I love the warm and fuzzy feeling that the word, “Love” gives me. This is how I want to approach my family, friends, and the members in my fitness classes.”Strength” is how I approach myself. I want to stay strong when I encounter trials, when I’m on top of the world, and most of all – in a mentally tough workout or a particularly difficult nutrition week!”Harmony” is for how everything is fused together in my life. I want there to be harmony between my work and home lives. I want there to be harmony within my household, among my friends, and among my family. Here are a few of the beautiful mantras the ladies in my class shared:
-I am enough
-There is no tomorrow
-Live in the moment and stay positive
Nutrition:
VEGGGGGGIES!!! VEGGGGGGIES!!! Oh, don’t mind me… I’m just trying to get it in my brain that I need VEGGGGGGIES… more and more VEGGGGGGGIES!!! Ok, I promise to stop, but this is what I really failed at this week. I know, I know – “failed” is so harsh, but tip-toeing around an issue leads to excuses, and what I need to work on for Week 3 is VEGGGGGGIE intake. Also, I feel I did pretty darn well really cutting down on sugar intake in Week 1, but I wasn’t as successful in Week 2. This is another thing I will be really mindful of going into Week 3.
I’m ready to ROCK Week 3! Who’s going to rock it with me?
