This is my first food post! SO EXCITING!
I love experimenting with desserts, and brownies are by far one of my favorites. What would happen if I put other yummy ingredients in my brownies? I knew I couldn’t go wrong (ok, I THOUGHT I couldn’t go wrong), so here’s what I came up with:
I put a number of different ingredients in muffin tin cups and then filled each cup up with brownie mix (from the box for ease, but you can surely make your own!)
Disclaimer: My brownies were all undercooked, which made the final products look less than beautiful… Don’t judge.
Yummy Combos (layered bottom to top) and How They Turned Out:
The Elvis: banana slice, pb, 1/3 of a large marshmallow, pb, banana slice
—Results: Good! It held up well in the oven and tasted great. If you don’t like the taste of bananas in pancakes, you probably won’t like these, because the banana has the same baked taste. I would replace the marshmallow with a graham cracker next time.
Fruit: strawberry in one, 2 blackberries in another
—Results: the fruit adds so much moisture when cooked that it, but the taste is great! Fruit with chocolate? It’s yummy if you don’t mind a soft glob of brownie!
S’More Brownie, Please: graham cracker piece, 1/3 of a large marshmallow with 2 semi-sweet chocolate chips inserted into the marshmallow, and topped with another graham cracker piece.
—Results: Yum! The graham cracker adds a crunch and stability, the marshmallow ends up creeping out the top and popping, but it ended up with a nice campfire-like taste.
Nilla Jelly Sandwich: Nilla wafer, jelly, Nilla wafer
—Results: Great! The wafers provide a nice crunch and also stability to the brownie, and the jelly adds a nice fruity flavor.
Candy Bar!: a “Fun Size” Snickers cut in half with 1/3 of a large marshmallow between them. This was layered left to right so that it would stand. I did this also with a Twix and a Milky Way
—Results: the ones with caramel get a little messy, but all taste great! A Three Musketeers might work well, or one with peanuts, because they’ll add some sturdiness.
Oreo PB Sandwich: Oreo cookie (not double stuffed), pb, Oreo cookie. I got this idea from “Do It And How”. I know… theirs look perfect, but let me tell you – using Oreos is the easy way, because they have no moisture and are flat. Not only that, but they are SO GOOD!
—Results: Um… amazing. The cookie hardens back up when it cools, which adds a nice crunch in contrast to the soft brownie. The Oreo cream gets a little crispy. Mmm…
You can guarantee I’ll keep experimenting and posing! Stay tuned!

Sounds fun! Wonder how some PRETZELS in a brownie would hold up? 🙂
