This post was first seen on FIT4MOM Front Range’s blog and is my 7th out of 8 posts documenting the journey to get my body back via the Body Back program with FIT4MOM Front Range. My experience is unique, because in addition to being a participant in the program, I’m also the instructor! It’s pretty awesome.
BODY BACK WEEK 7
WEIGHT:
At Assessments: 157.6 lbs
At the beginning of Week 7: 149.0 lbs
Total weight change: -8.6 lbs
I lost 2.0 pounds this week! WOWEE!
Are you supported at home? It’s not rare that instructors of Body Back hear from moms that their significant others aren’t 100% in support of a clean eating household. Here are some basic tips to make it work for your family:
1) Take recipes you love and alter them little-by-little to make them clean. Examples of this would be to exchange white flour with whole wheat flour or brown rice in place of white rice.
2) Remember that you get to choose what your little ones eat! This is where they will learn their tastes, habits, and beginning knowledge of food.
3) Don’t make two meals. Make one for you and your family. If a family member doesn’t want to eat it and is old enough to make their own – let ’em at it! If they aren’t old enough, they’ll find pieces of it that they can love. It might surprise them and you when they start liking it after 5, 10, or 15 encounters with it.
4) Keep…it…up… They will likely come around when they realize that you are right!
FITNESS:
My husband finished his 5-day trip on Tuesday, so I was able to get back to my normal fitness routine. YES! The workouts I had alone and with my Body Back ladies were so fulfilling!
MONDAY: Rest day
TUESDAY: Body Back Equipment Circuit – I was only able to get in about 20% of the workout, but it was a blast watching the ladies punch my punching bag, do maniacs on a mini trampoline, and throw a medicine ball at the wall.
WEDNESDAY: 2x through the Body Back Equipment Circuit… ALONE! It was AWESOME! To show you how serious I was about it, here’s a mini clip.

THURSDAY: Nada!
FRIDAY: I ran 4 miles while listening to Lisa Druxman’s Motivating Mom podcast. Refreshing!
SATURDAY: 50% of Body Back class! We had a lot of fun and it surely was challenging! I also got in 1 sweaty hour of jumping at Fly High Trampoline Park in Fort Collins.
SUNDAY: 3 miles with our 10k Training runners. We had 7 missing due to the holiday weekend, but the 5 of us had a great time laughing while doing something great for our bodies. I also was able to do 100% of our Body Back makeup class (you know, except for when I was taking the planking picture below.
NUTRITION:
OK, so you can see that I get on kicks, right? The “Way Easy White Bean Soup” and the Turkey Chili (thus far) are my very favorite recipes! I make a bunch at eat them for days.
My Meals:
There is only one week left of the program, but the possibilities are endless!
